This illustration was created as a personal study focused on composition, visual storytelling, and digital painting, inspired by the character Jimmy Five.

The main goal was to explore a workflow that helps me make creative decisions before the rendering stage. After establishing the composition with a sketch, I created several Color Key variations to explore different moods, lighting conditions, and color relationships. Once the direction was chosen, I moved on to color blocking, building a solid foundation for the painting.

Throughout the process, I also used a black-and-white adjustment layer to evaluate the values and ensure the contrast remained consistent regardless of the colors. This helps maintain a clear visual hierarchy and improves the readability of the illustration.

With these foundations established, I focused on refining the rendering by developing light, shadows, textures, and subtle details to bring more depth, volume, and personality to the final artwork.
